Scarring

What causes scarring?

Scars form when the dermis is damaged. The body will always repair a wound by producing new collagen fibres to mend the damaged area, resulting in a scar.

The new scar tissue will have a different texture, colour and feel to the surrounding tissue. Therefore scar formation is a natural part of the healing process after injury and the appearance of the scar will vary greatly.

Scars come in many shapes and sizes from different levels of skin trauma, including stretch marks, acne scarring, chicken pox scars, post surgery scars etc. Unfortunately as we age and our cell regeneration slows down which can lead to us scarring more easily and having a prolonged scar healing process.

With commitment to skincare and in-salon treatments the appearance of scars can be hugely improved.
